I took Ellie out to enjoy our unseasonably warm weather yesterday : ) watching her discover and explore the world is so much fun.

Last month I ran a Model Search Photo Contest in order to find a cutie to help with a little project I have coming up after the first of the year. I received dozens of entries and was floored by the HUNDREDS of people who showed their support and voted. I wish I could work with each and every one of the contestants, but do to time (and because it was a contest) there could only be one winner and that winner was Lyrik Miller.
Lyrik has adorn my blog several times already: first in his mommy’s tummy during her maternity session, then for his newborn pictures, next was his first modeling gig, and most recently in his mommy and daddy’s wedding. I’ve watched this little guy grow through my camera lens and was so thrilled to get the chance to work play with him again.
Ashley (Lyrik’s mommy) is an AMAZING women! She and I both advocate for many of the same things (cloth diapering, baby wearing, safe co-sleeping, natural birthing, and breastfeeding) and she asked me to help her celebrate the last little bits of Lyrik’s baby phase (Lyrik will be one and a half next month). Ashley and Lyrik are a nursing pair* and capturing the bond they share was at the top of the list…

*There is nothing more pure, more precious, or more beautiful then a nursing mother and child. I have taken tens of thousands of pictures at this point in my career, but the first image of this post is now one of my new favorites. Ashley looks absolutely gorgeous… I am so glad I was able to capture this image for her : ) being able to give other moms images that I know they will love and cherish forever is why I do what I do!
this little sugar pie is my niece : )

She will be joined soon by niece #2 but I think I’m going to still call her baby Jordynn… at least for a little bit longer. Babies just grow up waaaaaay to fast!
Little Mr. Miles took a liking to me right away and was such a ham in front of the camera!

: ) such a sweet little man
The last two months have been quite the learning curve for me… I completely forgot how much work babies actually are, and I’ve been coping with the reality that I just can’t get everything I want to done on any given day.
I am excited to get back to work BUT replying to emails and editing pictures takes a bit longer when you have a ten week old on your lap : ) I’m hoping to be back full time after the new year (once Ellie gets a little older and more independent); until then I will be limited to one or two sessions per month.
one look at her sweet face and you’ll understand

Little miss Ellie has kept me busy these last eight weeks… busy cuddling, laughing, and just plain enjoying being a new family of four!

I’m slowly getting back to the swing of things and hope to have my fall availability schedule posted in the next few weeks.
I was so excited to have James back in for his six month portraits, he was such perfect little newborn and now he has grown into a perfect baby!

Thanks Jessica and Dan for making the trip back down, I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!
I loved having little miss Aurora back in the studio for her 18 month session : ) she has a tiny little voice but big giggles!

I have been doing some commercial work for Kim of Kim’s Cloth and was lucky to have cutie pie Lyrik come into the studio and model some of the diapers Kim made for me.

one cute diaper + one really cute baby = a perfect pair : )
